Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had numerous skills, such as being able to act, direct and produce plays, as well as write them, teach, and be Director of Drama for St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton and is the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" who hails originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for plays as a child as well as watching her mother doing her job. Anna was featured in a variety of advertisements in her youth. In November 1999, Anna made the move to Toronto to advance her acting career. She eventually moving into Los Angeles, California, during the decade that followed. Seth Cooperman met Anna at an Los Angeles actor's workshops in 2007. The couple got engaged.
