April Ross
April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball stars to win medals at more than one Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with April Ross in Tokyo for her third gold medal over the coming days. Ross hopes to win more than her first Olympic medal. As she is 39, it may be her last shot. The athlete is optimistic she will be able to win top awards. Ross told NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, or even a good game, she believes the team will be able to win the gold medal. In addition, I'll try the chance to have chance. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a sister. Ross competed in many activities while at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she played indoor volleyball and track. However she was clearly a cut above the rest in this latter game. The college bio says that she played outside of the hitter middle blocker, and setter in her volleyball playing career in high school. Her achievements were rewarded in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Players of the Year. The skills she showed in volleyball also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Ross has been playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017. However, Ross's beach game had been established long before that. It's true that she has had the chance to win numerous tournaments, including one with the legendary player of volleyball. From 2007 until 2013, she was a team with Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Together together with Kessy Ross, she won the World Championship in 2009 while competing on the international circuit. They took home a Silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team who was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, edged each other to take home the gold medal. The fate of the matter was that Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. They won the beach volleyball bronze during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a player for the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated the high school she attended. The time she spent at the school was an impressive one. In 2000, as a freshman she fought her way to Pac-10 and NCAA The Freshman of the Year awards and was also an All-American. In 2000, her Trojans also reached the Final Four. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to repeat as an All-American. In her last two seasons with the Trojans program, she coached the Trojans to winning a national title every year. She was a great volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross studied the field of international relations in USC. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter's rise to beach volleyball fame. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. As a result, Ross remains close to her parent who died. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, continues to inspire her.
