April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is among the few female players of beach volleyball who have achieved this feat. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join her in Tokyo. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. The next opportunity she gets at age 39. She remains optimistic that she will be able to win top awards. If we play our top or perform well, I think we'll win the gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. It's also going to be a matter of chance. Ross born in 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began participating in athletics at the Newport Harbor High School. She went on to compete in many sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as track and running. When she played in the final sport she stood out. In her time at the high school level in her university biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player in 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman might be working on a project in 2017, but Ross was already an established player at the beach before they teamed up. In reality, she's won multiple big tournaments and one partner was an all-star volleyball player. In the period 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy Ross, she won a World Title in 2009 when she competed internationally. In the 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded a gold medal. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor clinched gold ahead of them. Ross Jennings was the replacement for May-Treanor as she retired. They went on to earn the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a student athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to starting her professional career. She played in high school, and even years prior to hitting the beach as a professional. Her time at USC was awe-inspiring. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year when she was a teen freshman. In 2000, her Trojans also reached the Final Four. The second season of her career, she experienced a terrible personal tragedy, but managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. During her final two seasons in the Trojans in the program, she led them to success by winning two the national title in consecutive years. As an individual, she cemented her place as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the top female college volleyball players in the country. Ross took a course in international relations at USC. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross reach beach volleyball's highest level. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was an USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. Ross is still awed by her parents who passed away. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her both at and off the beaches.
