Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet has a TV personality, author, and philanthropist. Originally from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first graduate non-UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Then she became a conservative syndicated writer after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a couple of years after, she created an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on political scenarios. The fame she gained helped her to convince several stars to voice their views regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna gained fame after she decided in 2003 to become an Independent Candidate in the California Recall Election to replace the former governor Davis. Also, she was the head of an Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th place on the list and in the same year, the Guardian included her in the top 100 of media lists. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. In 2012, she became the President of AOL's media group. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. Though she shared a close relationship with both of her parents and father, it was their relationship that helped shape her. She showed leadership traits even in her early years. At 16 years of age she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the sole foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she was a critic columnist and television host. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's help.
